Child Saves Brother From Drowning

In the news today is the story of Cody Cronin. He is a five year old boy who, last week, rescued his little brother from the backyard swimming pool.

The Cronins’ pool is fenced and the entrance gates are usually kept locked and secured. But the two boys, anxious to swim, noticed the lock on one of the gates had been left unlocked. The boys knew better but were eager to swim, and they saw their opportunity. Read the full article here.

This shows that even with a proper barrier in place, adult supervision around swimming pools is a must. Remember to always keep your pool fence's gate locked at all times when the pool is not in use. Verify your self-closing, self-latching gate works properly and if repairs are required make taking care of them a priority.
